FEMA Releases Additional Details on the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act

On March 21, 2014, President Obama signed the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act into law.  Today, April 3rd, FEMA has issued a WYO Bulletin and Overview informational document that provides furter details about the new law.  The document includes information on:

  • Refunds
  • Premium Rates for Subsidized Policies
  • New Surcharges for all Policies
  • Grandfathering
  • Flood Insurance Advocate
  • Other Provisions
  • Draft Affordability Framework, and
  • Mapping
