UNCLE BILLY’S DEMOLITION PROJECT
DLNR is in the final stages of abating the above ground structures of the former Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel pursuant to Governor Josh Green’s Emergency Proclamations. Demolition of the above ground structures is anticipated to start around September 23, 2024 with completion in December 2024.
Impact to Public: Work hours will be from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays. No demolition of structures, hydraulic hammering, or concrete processing shall be done prior to 9:00 am.
