Final Public Meeting for Makaha Flood Study

Final public meeting will discuss recommended flood mitigation measures for Mākaha Valley

 

More than 70 residents have attended the first two community meetings at the Waiʻanae District Park in March and September of 2014 as part of the 20-month long Mākaha Valley Flood Mitigation Study that began in June 2013. Residents have shared some of the flooding issues that they have been experiencing in Mākaha Valley and have been introduced to some of the preliminary recommended flood mitigation projects for the valley.

Valuable information provided by many members of the Mākaha community has been incorporated into the study. A third and final public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 15th at the Waiʻanae District Park Multi-Purpose Building. This meeting will present the recommended flood mitigation projects for Mākaha Valley and prioritization of the projects.

All are encouraged to attend the public meeting on Thursday, January 15th at the Waiʻanae District Park Multi-Purpose Building. Refreshments will be provided at 6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation and discussion from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
